There again – it’s almost time to return to Middle Earth. The Lord of the Rings The TV series is one of the most anticipated high-budget entertainment events of the year and the latest trailer for the series has dropped ahead of the premiere.

Prime Video already hosts a catalog of great sci-fi and fantasy series, from The Legend of Vox Machina to The boys. The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power will join the Prime Video lineup on September 1, 2022with the first two episodes airing at 9 p.m. EST.

What is The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power about?

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is based on the novels by JRR Tolkien and is set to be directed by Wayne Yip, JA Bayona and Charlotte Brändström, with showrunners JD Payne and Patrick McKay. The announced cast of the series includes Cynthia Addai-Robinson, Morfydd Clark, Peter Mullan, Ismael Cruz Cordova, Robert Aramayo, Trystan Gravelle, Benjamin Walker, Charles Edwards, Augustus Prew, Lenny Henry, Maxim Baldry, Suchitha Jayasundera and others. The series will focus on an era of Middle-earth not previously explored in modern adaptations, prior to the events of The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring and beyond.

The latest trailer focuses on Galadriel, played by Moryfdd Clark, as well as several factions of Middle-earth, including elves, dwarves, humans, and hobbits. We also take a look at some of the monsters of Middle Earth. According to the Amazon series synopsis, the story will take viewers from the Misty Mountains to the island of Númenor and beyond, exploring old and new settings for fans of the films.

The series will begin streaming with weekly episodes on September 1st. The first two episodes air at 9 p.m. EST on September 1, 2022.
